Core to the Brigade and our service to the community are our people. The NSW Rural Fire Service is one of the largest volunteer organisations in Australia. We currently have over 50 active members in the brigade who take on not only fire fighting but also catering, training and administrative roles.

The Bungendore brigade is made up of men and women of all ages, backgrounds and professions. Our youngest members are thirteen; our oldest grandparents. We welcome people of all ages with a junior firefighter program for those under 16 where we teach fire fighting concepts and practical skills in a controlled, safe, environment.

The RFS has a comprehensive training program to give all our members the knowledge and skills required to operate effectively in stressful and potentially dangerous fire situations. With over 30 qualifications available and the opportunity to gain the Nationally recognised Certificates II, III and IV in Public Safety we ensure our members have everything they need.
