A Severe Thunderstorm warning has been issued for the area bringing lightning and damaging winds. Please be vigilant regarding lightning strikes. Despite the rain it is important that any fires that start are reported.

This is especially important in the coming days as fires started by lightning often surface days later, often when wind and temperature worsen. This delayed ignition is what started the Sand Hills fire near Bungendore in January 2013.

Smoke across the region is being carried in on the southern winds from the fires across Victoria. If you see flame or a distinct smoke column call 000. A number of smaller fires are burning in our region at Windellema and Araleun. For details on theses see the RFS Website or "Fires Near Me" App.

With cooler temperatures, and some rain, the Fire Danger for tomorrow is down to High.
