Use the Get Ready Weekend on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October to make your Bush Fire Survival Plan and prepare your home.
The 2014, Volume 36, No 2 Edition of the Bushfire Bulletin has been released and at 88 pages its a big one! Excellent coverage of the major fires from last year and many other great stories throughout.
There are now only nine weekends left until the start of the Bushfire Danger Period on October 1!. This means there is limited time to plan and conduct pile burns, hazard reductions and bonfires without needing a permit from the NSW RFS.
People living in bush fire prone areas are encouraged to have their say on new vegetation clearing laws, designed to make homes safer during bush fire season.
